Caring for Your Le Monáe Demi-Fine Jewelry

1. Preserve Its Brilliance (Both Vermeil and Solid Gold Jewelry)

  • Shield from chemicals: Perfumes, lotions, and household cleaners can tarnish or dull your jewelry. Apply beauty products before wearing your pieces.

  • Remove during activities: Take off your jewelry when exercising, swimming, or handling chores to avoid exposure to moisture, abrasives, or harsh environments.

  • Store with care: Use the original jewelry box or a soft pouch to protect your pieces from scratches and tarnish. Keep away from direct sunlight and humidity.

2. Gentle Cleaning

  • 925 Sterling silver: Use a silver polishing cloth or mild jewelry cleaner for a lustrous finish. Ensure thorough rinsing and drying.

  • Gemstones: Wipe with a damp cloth to remove oils or dust. Avoid soaking stones, especially porous or treated ones, to maintain their integrity.

3. Mindful Maintenance

*What is Vermeil Jewelry?

  • Vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a luxurious type of gold-plated jewelry crafted with higher quality standards compared to regular gold-plating. Vermeil jewelry achieves a similar look to 18-karat gold without the high costs involved.

  • Vermeil jewelry is durable and high in quality; however, it is important to treat it with a little extra care.

  • The gold layer may wear over time with regular use. Minimize exposure to moisture and friction to prolong its glow.

Solid Gold Made-to-Order items

  • How you care for your jewelry dictates its appraisal value.

  • We recommend that you clean your Le Monáe piece with a mild soapy hot water. A soft bristle brush is preferable but we recommend that you refrain from using abrasive materials to avoid scratching the finish of your jewelry. A microfiber polishing cloth can be used from time to time as well.

4. Jewelry Maintenance

Our warranty policy covers all of the jewelry purchased from Le Monáe. This warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship for 3 months on our vermeil pieces and 1 year on our solid gold items. It does not cover neglect, abuse, normal wear and tear, or stone loss.
